Set up
Android Auto.
Connect your phone. Keep glucose in view.
Once setup is complete, connecting to Android Auto brings up a T1 Arc glucose notification. A persistent media-style card can keep the reading visible alongside your usual car display.
01 Enable glucose in the car
In T1 Arc on your phone, open:
Settings → Display and alerts → Phone and lock screen
Turn on Experimental Android Auto glance. Allow T1 Arc notifications if Android asks.
Check the glucose reading and its age on the phone before continuing. Android Auto uses the phone’s readings; it does not connect directly to your sensor.
02 Allow T1 Arc in Android Auto
T1 Arc is installed from its APK rather than Google Play, so Android Auto needs this one-time setting.
- Open your phone’s Settings and search for Android Auto. Open the Android Auto settings page.
- Scroll to Version. Tap it to expand Version and permission info, then tap that area ten times. Accept the prompt to enable developer settings.
- Open the three-dot menu → Developer settings.
- Find Unknown sources and enable it.
These are Android Auto’s own developer settings. You do not need USB debugging or wireless debugging. Menu names can vary with your phone and Android Auto version.
03 Connect and check the display
Connect your phone to Android Auto using your usual USB cable or wireless connection. If it was already connected during setup, disconnect and reconnect.
The glucose notification should appear. In the reported working setup, the persistent display stays in the top-left corner as a media-style card. The card’s position and visibility can vary with the car screen, Android Auto layout and other active media.
You should not need to repeat developer setup or open the full T1 Arc car view every journey. If you want the larger view, open T1 Arc from Android Auto’s app launcher.
While parked, compare the reading and its age with the phone. If the source stops updating, the car display cannot supply a fresh reading.

If something does not appear.
No T1 Arc in the app launcher
Check that Experimental Android Auto glance is on in T1 Arc. Check that Unknown sources is enabled in Android Auto’s developer settings. In Android Auto settings, check Customise launcher and enable T1 Arc if it is listed. Disconnect and reconnect the car.
No glucose notification
Check T1 Arc has notification permission in your phone’s app settings. Confirm the phone has a current reading and Android Auto is connected, then reconnect while parked.
The persistent card is missing or in a different place
Android Auto controls the layout and may show another media app in that space. While parked, look for T1 Arc in the launcher and open its car view. The top-left position is an observed layout, not a fixed location on every vehicle.
The reading is old or absent
Open T1 Arc on your phone while parked and check the glucose source and reading time. If the phone is also behind, reconnect or refresh the source there first. Check any background restrictions shown in the phone’s app settings.
Turn it off again
Return to Settings → Display and alerts → Phone and lock screen in T1 Arc and turn off Experimental Android Auto glance. Your phone’s glucose source can remain connected.
